Fortistar Invests in Vestaron, A Leader in Developing Sustainable Alternatives to Chemical-Based Crop Controls

Fortistar, a privately-owned investment firm that provides capital to build, grow and manage companies that address complex sustainability challenges, is proud to announce it invested in an $82 million Series C funding round for Vestaron, a leader in peptide-based biological crop protection that improves the sustainability of farms, farmers and the planet.
In addition to Fortistar, the Series C funding round involved lead investors Ordway Selections and Cavallo Ventures. It also included new investors Agronautic Ventures and Endeavor8 and previous investors Novo Holdings, Northpond Ventures, CGC Ventures, iSelect and Syngenta Ventures. The financing round was significantly oversubscribed, with high demand from both new and existing investors. Vestaron will use the funds to continue to develop a range of alternatives to chemical pesticides that can contaminate the environment and present a number of hazards to other organisms.
